6

As we all sat down at Shelby's long dinning room table, severs came and gave us a green and leafy salad. All the flavors were perfectly distributed, and the crisp leaves were crunched quietly in my mouth. After this lovely appetizer, I expected a exquisite entree. However something went terribly wrong.

The sausage and bean casserole was beautiful on its silver plate. Explosions of beans and sausage erupted in my mouth on the first bite. It wasn't the good-tasting kind of eruption, it was the horrid kind of eruption. Burnt pinto beans swam in my mouth as I reached for a napkin. It was nice to have the undercooked sausage out of my mouth before I puked.

"How is your casserole, Kaylee?" Shelby asked. "My grandmother made it right before she died It was the last thing she made." She added in a sad tone. How long ago did her grandmother die?

"I'm so sorry." I said sincerely. "The casserole is delicious!" Great, I thought, now I have to eat all of it. Luckily since I'm only so big, I got served a kids portion.

After many horrifying bites and swallows, I finally made it to the last bite. Regretfully I put the disgusting food in my mouth, chewed, and swallowed. Joy overflowed me, and I couldn't believe I was done. I didn't have to eat anymore.

"Jeez Kaylee, you polished your plate. How about we get you another?" Shelby said surprised. My life was over.
