OMG...it's our last week! (gasp!!!) So we have a lot of fun stuff to pack in. Let's work hard when we're working and play hard when we're playing. Just a reminder: anyone late to the meeting points, misbehaving in the student union, being disruptive in class (talking out of turn, talking to and distracting others intead of listening &participating in the conversation), or using an outdoor voice instead of a respectful whisper when walking through the hallways of WRI and FDH will choose for me to have a phone conference with his/her parents regarding behavior not suitble for someone studying on the UNLV campus. Please behave accordingly.
For your blog post today, YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR MASTER PLOTS BOOK. I have an extra here with me in the lab and Justin has an extra, but your books should all either be in the classroom or brought to campus everyday--this is part of being prepared for class. No excuses!
First, find the # of the plot next to your name (listed below). Second, scan over this chapter in the Master Plots book, being sure especially to take note of the checklist at the end. Third, visit this website:
20 Master Plot Exercises
and click on the exercise of your plot number. Read further about the plot, and then try the exercise. You can do the excercise as in-depth or non in-depth as you want (for example, if it asks you to write a story, you can write a plot summary of the story you would write, a scene from the story you would write with one or two sentences summarizing the full plot of your story and explaining where this scene fits in (example: The scene below occurs just before she kills her mother's prize long-haired guinea pig). Interpret your exercise by yourself--do it as you think it should be done and as you understand it. There is no wrong way, except to half-arse it and not really try.
Last, post what you do with your exercise on the blog--we will share 3 per day Monday to Thursday and then 2 on Friday so do understand that your work will be shared.
