Raindrops slowly slid down the windshield of my brand new Audi R8. I sat in the drivers seat watching Route 9W pass by at eighty-five miles per hour. I could feel the radiation on my face from the blowing heater. My mouth felt dry from the heat and lack of humidity in the car. A sign read that my exit was a quater of a mile. As my exit approached, I manuevered into the far right lane.
The road that branched off Route 9W was undescribable. There were luxury cars stopped on every light. The street was lined with people that were filled with laughter and happiness. Stores were glowing with lights and glamour. Tuscan mansions sat on hills off in the distance. I sat mesmerized by the entire gloat of the town. Turning to the side, I saw ocean waves crashing upon stone cliffs. They waves were fierce and ferocious, they showed character. I cast a quick grin still hypnotized by the street.
Slowly, the luxury and the glam began to fade. I found myself on the highway once again. The transition to darkness had been an aggressive one. My R8 was the only car on the road. Quickly, I glanced back at the town. It was only a speck of light. The thought of the street quickly faded, and it remained only a memory now.
