artistic statement

Some think I write the way I do for a grade. Others think I write to impress a teacher or prove that I can do something other kid’s can’t, but the real reason why I write is simple. I write for me. Writing lets me think deeper and feel stronger. It unveils the horrors and joys of this life as it overtakes my emotions. Writing is not only my hobby, but my strongest grasp on sanity.
My mind is like my sheet of paper where I brainstorm and write. Nighttime is when I build upon my ideas, because the night is a different world. Thoughts seem more profound, and life is put into perspective. Countless hours each night seem to slip by as I think about a story or poem, and search for just the right words to tell it with. Ideas don’t come easy, but when they do, they come strong. Once I get started on a story, I just can’t stop. I’ll finally find just the right words to put on paper, and I’ll reach for my pencil and a notebook. It’s time to write.
